Sands Keeper does not require an account. Gameplay progress is stored locally on your device. An anonymous player ID and your best level are sent to our own backend on Cloudflare Workers so you can appear in the global leaderboard. No ads, no third-party trackers, no personal data sold.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in connection with Sands Keeper (the “Game”), an Android puzzle game, and this website (the “Site”).
Privacy contact: dlzprode@gmail.com.
2. Age restriction
The Game and this Site are intended only for people aged 16 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a person under 16 has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can address it.
3. Information handled by the Game
Information stored on your device
The Game stores your current board state, best scores, in-game preferences, and an anonymous player identity (see below) locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences. This information is used to restore your progress and is not sent to the developer except as part of the leaderboard feature described below.
Anonymous player identity
When you first launch the Game, it generates a random anonymous player ID (for example p_a1b2c3d4e5f6g7h8) and a random desert-themed display name (for example GoldenScarab421) directly on your device. You do not enter these, and they are not linked to your real identity, email, phone number, or any account.
Leaderboard (own backend on Cloudflare Workers)
When you finish a game, the Game sends the following data to our own backend, which is deployed as a Cloudflare Worker:
- your anonymous player ID;
- your auto-generated display name;
- your best reached level;
- a timestamp of the submission.
The Cloudflare Worker also receives technical information that is normally included in any internet request, such as your IP address and user agent. This technical data is used only for:
- rate-limiting and abuse prevention;
- basic operational logging and debugging;
- returning the leaderboard response to your device.
We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or tracking across other apps or websites, and we do not sell it. Leaderboard entries are stored in Cloudflare’s infrastructure (for example Cloudflare KV or D1) and are accessible only to the developer.
Internet access
The Game requests the INTERNET permission to load and submit leaderboard scores and to open external links such as the Google Play listing when you tap “Rate on Google Play”. It does not use the internet for ads, analytics, or background tracking.
Device features
The Game may use vibration for gameplay feedback. It does not request access to your contacts, precise location, camera, microphone, photos, or files.
4. Information handled by this website
This static website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels, user accounts, or contact forms. Your hosting provider may process standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and time of access, for security and delivery purposes.
5. Google Play
If you install the Game through Google Play, Google may process information about downloads, purchases, device details, and diagnostics under its own privacy policy. The developer does not control that processing. Please review Google’s Privacy Policy for details.
6. Legal bases and purposes
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, technical requests are processed as necessary to provide the requested functionality (including the leaderboard) and on the basis of our legitimate interests in securing and operating the Game and Site. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
7. Retention
Gameplay records and preferences remain on your device until you clear the app data or uninstall the Game. Leaderboard entries (anonymous player ID, display name, level, timestamp) remain on our Cloudflare Worker backend until you request their removal or until we discontinue the leaderboard. Cloudflare may retain its own operational logs according to its policies.
8. Sharing and international transfers
Leaderboard data is processed by Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Workers), which may process information in countries outside your own. Google Play processes installation and purchase data under its own terms. These providers govern the safeguards they use, including standard contractual clauses where applicable.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Because gameplay data is stored locally, you can remove it by clearing the Game’s app data or uninstalling it.
To request deletion of your leaderboard entry, email dlzprode@gmail.com and include your in-game display name (for example GoldenScarab421). We will remove the entry within a reasonable time.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the information handled. All leaderboard requests use HTTPS. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the Game, Site, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will identify the latest version. Continued use of the Game after changes means you accept the updated policy.
